CONFIRMED (filing / employment): The estate of Dolly Parton — run by longtime manager Danny Nozell — has filed in Tennessee seeking a restraining order against Bryan Seaver, Parton’s nephew and former head of security, according to The Guardian (opens in new tab), E! CONFIRMED (public role): Seaver announced Parton’s death on Aug. 25, 2026, in a video he said she had asked him years earlier to deliver. He is the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, outlets note.
ALLEGED (estate papers, as quoted in coverage): Court papers described by Billboard and relayed by The Guardian (opens in new tab) claim Seaver made “relentless” threats, including messages portraying himself as heavily armed and saying things such as “I’m a killer” and that “all I do is warfare.” The filing claims staff fear coming to work. SEAVER’S SIDE (on record to TMZ (opens in new tab)): Seaver denied that the messages were true threats, calling much of it private “rage talk” while grieving with Nozell, while also standing by some characterizations of his military-contractor background. He said comments about “ratfucking” betrayers targeted bad business partners of Parton’s, not a general threat. The chancery court in Nashville will consider the restraining-order request.
