Shohei Ohtani returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ lineup after missing about two weeks with right biceps discomfort and went 1-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts as the designated hitter against the San Diego Padres, NBC Sports/AP, NBC Los Angeles (opens in new tab), and The Japan Times (opens in new tab) reported on Sept. 24, 2026.
Batting second, Ohtani lined a hit into right field on his first at-bat against Padres starter Robbie Ray, drawing a loud ovation at Dodger Stadium, the AP account said. Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani “looked good,” citing at-bat quality and that he “came out of it pretty well.”
Ohtani had last played Sept. 7 against Cincinnati before the injured-list stint that began Sept. 8. Mookie Betts had been leading off in his absence. Roberts said Ohtani would be back for the series finale.
